Become a Cardiovascular-Proficient Practitioner

CARDIOVASCULAR MASTERY PROGRAM & COMMUNITY

An Ongoing Self-Study Course with Six Faculty

Updated & Reformatted

Separate CEU Course Available with the Core Concepts on this Topic: 14 CEU/PDAs for DC, LAc & ND

Welcome.

One in three US adults has some form of cardiovascular disease (CVD). Lifetime risk is 50%, and CVD kills 850,000 per year in the US alone. It is the leading cause of death in the world. In the time it will take you to read this (one minute), 1.6 people will die of CVD in the US, usually from a heart attack or stroke.

CVD is in almost every case a preventable and reversible lifestyle-based condition with specific causes. Become a cardiovascular-proficient practitioner, and you will become the go-to practitioner in your community for those who wish to avoid needless suffering and premature death by improving their cardiovascular (CV) health using natural functional medicine.

The Cardiovascular Mastery Program (CMP) will give you everything you need to be well-prepared to work with patients who wish to improve their CV health. You will learn how to guide your patients to lasting change and self-healing, and receive the latest in clinical understanding of what works and what doesn’t in promoting heart and circulatory health.

The CMP combines a self-paced online curriculum with new training each week, and ongoing monthly live weekly calls (which are recorded and added to your online curriculum), to present new research and Q&A.

This course is not approved for CEUs. We have a separate, standalone CEU course on the Core Concepts on this Cardiovascular topic, which has been approved for CEUs/PDAs for DC, LAc and ND.

Please join us, for the benefit of your patients and practice. Together we can end the cardiovascular epidemic. Let’s do it.

Warmly,

Michael Gaeta, DAOM, MS, CDN, Dipl Ac & ABT (NCCAOM), LAc, CNFMP, LMT, CAT

COURSE CURRICULUM

New course material is organized into a logical progression of ongoing weekly modules. These typically give you 30-45 minutes of cardiovascular training. Most modules provide you with video and audio content, transcripts, slides and related research, articles & studies.

Each month, ongoingly, on the second Thursday at 10am MT / 12pm ET, Michael hosts a live, one-hour Zoom call to present new research, and answer your questions. You can instead call in by phone, instead of Zoom.

There is also a private online community, for peer support among Cardiovascular students.

INTRODUCTION, OVERVIEW, STATISTICS

Learn the big picture and the foundational principles of wholistic medicine, and of how this type of care is the future of healthcare. Understand how it differs from conventional medicine. Review the cardiovascular system, and an overview of and statistics related to cardiovascular disease.

You will learn:

  • What makes any therapy wholistic

  • The Top Seven Classes of Dangerous Drugs You Need to Know

  • How to communicate with patients

  • Cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, pathology

  • Statistics related to cardiovascular disease

CAUSES OF CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE, CARDIOMETABOLIC SYNDROME

If you understand the cause, you can implement the correction and prevention. Understand the ten primary causes of cardiovascular disease, and why the US has so much CVD per capita. Learn the importance of metabolic syndrome, light therapy, and how to improve glycemic balance. Also learn about the best nutrition practice software.

You will learn:

  • Etiology and Pathophysiology of CVD

  • Metabolic Syndrome: Definition, Overview, Testing, Support

  • Which two factors most contribute to autoimmune disease

  • Diabetes Case Study, Nutrition Practice Software

  • Healing with Light: Low-Level Light Therapy

MYTHS AND TRUTHS ABOUT CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE

CVD is big business. Dangerous statins are the best-selling drugs in history, based on the cholesterol myth. And pHarma, using manipulated research and controlling industry groups, has twice lowered both cholesterol and blood pressure targets to sell more drugs. This module will enlighten you to the truth about these two areas.

You will learn:

  • How cholesterol was demonized to sell useless and harmful drugs

  • How blood pressure targets were set for pHarma benefit, not improving outcomes

  • How to work with patients taking these two classes of drugs

LABORATORY AND IN-OFFICE TESTING FOR CARDIOVASCULAR RISK ASSESSMENT

SPOILER ALERT. Blood cholesterol and LDL levels are completely irrelevant in predicting future heart attack or stroke events, lowering these numbers does not improve outcomes, and may cause more harm. So... what laboratory tests are actually relevant in assessing CVD risk? Learn this and natural support strategies in this important module.

You will learn:

  • The eight best CVD blood markers, optimal values and nutritional / botanical support

  • The two best urinalysis markers for CVD risk

  • Essentials of tissue mineral analysis

  • Direct to patient lab testing

  • An ideal annual lab test schedule for wellness care

BLOOD CLOTS, RUTIN, VASCULAR HEALTH & VITAMIN P

Blood clots cause more than half of all disease and death in the US, second only to conventional medicine. And vascular health is part of the etiology and pathophysiology of most chronic disease. If you can improve vascular health and microvascular circulation in your patients, you will improve outcomes with most chronic disease, and help prevent heart attacks and most strokes. Learn the two most important foods and the five most important herbs for vascular health.

You will learn:

  • Pathophysiology and clinical significance of microcirculation and thrombosis

  • Rutin as a natural antithrombotic agent

  • History, nature and clinical significance of scurvy and Vitamin P

  • How to improve vascular health & microcirculation with nutrition and botanical medicine

  • Prevalence, etiology and natural strategies for patients with fatty liver disease

BOTANICAL MEDICINE FOR CARDIOVASCULAR SUPPORT

Phytotherapy offers many advantages over pharmaceutical interventions: a much longer history of use, greater safety, fewer adverse reactions, lower cost, and a broader, balanced effect on physiology. This module will train you in the clinical application of the ten most important botanical medicines for improving cardiovascular health and cardiometabolic syndrome.

You will learn:

  • The six best herbs for improving cardiovascular health: functions, indications, cautions

  • Nuclear Erythroid transcription Factor 2 and endothelial health

  • Four key herbs for supporting patients with cardiometabolic syndrome

LIFESTYLE & NUTRITIONAL SUPPORT FOR CARDIOVASCULAR HEALTH

CVD is mostly a lifestyle-driven inflammatory disease, mostly caused by nutritional deficiencies, dysglycemia, lack of exercise, environmental toxicity, autoimmunity and chronic low-level infection. In this module you’ll learn the key lifestyle interventions that can prevent CVD and improve CV health and the role of autoimmunity in CVD. You’ll understand the most important four vitamins, four minerals, two foods, two lipids, and nucleoprotein extract for dramatically improving CV health and patient outcomes.

You will learn:

  • The role of heart autoimmunity in arrhythmia and heart failure

  • Physical exercise, CV health, and CVD prevention

  • Vitamin B, C, D, E complexes

  • Direct to patient lab testing

  • An ideal annual lab test schedule for wellness care

BONUS: THE IMPORTANCE OF THE HEART SOUND RECORDER

The Endocardiograph was released by Dr Royal Lee in 1937, and has been used by thousands of conventional and natural health professionals since that time. It measures and graphs the movement of the four heart valves, as a general wellness device. The new incarnation of this instrument is the digital Heart Sound Recorder (HSR), one of the most important tools available to the natural health professional. This module provides an introduction to the HSR, its history, and application in clinical practice. This module gives clinicians a good working knowledge of this device, whether to use in practice (Cardio students may purchase one at a discount) or to refer patients to a local practitioner who has one, for periodic heart graphs.

You will learn:

  • The history, mechanism and usefulness of the HSR

  • See an actual live graph on a practitioner, with immediate pre- and post-protocol changes

  • The fundamentals of HSR interpretation
